Prosthetic Laboratories of Rochester, Inc. is a major professional provider of prosthetic and orthotic devices for the medical profession and their patients, primarily on a prescription basis. We are very proud of the fact that our Rochester location employs more than ten percent of the Registered Technicians in the state of Minnesota. Prosthetic Laboratories of Rochester, Inc. is contracted with most major insurance agencies and is a Medicare provider.

PROSTHESIS: In the Greek language this means "putting to" such as an artificial substitute for a missing body part like an arm or leg used for functional or cosmetic reasons, or both. A Prosthetist is a health professional skilled in prosthetics and practicing its application in individual cases.

ORTHOSIS: In the Greek language this means "making straight" such as an appliance or apparatus used to support, align, prevent, or correct deformities or to improve the function of movable parts of the body. An Orthotist is a health professional skilled in orthotics, knowledgeable about all aspects of orthotics.

PEDORTHIST: Is an allied health professional knowledgeable about all aspects of prescription footwear and related devices. A Pedorthist is able to customize or fabricate shoes for everyone from diabetic foot wear to running shoes for athletes.

MASTECTOMY FITTERS: We have a certified fitter for postoperative and preoperative mastectomy patients at all of our Silhouette Shoppes. Our fitters have been professionally trained to provide the proper fit for breast forms or any feminine fit required for comfort.
